A selection of images from the International Wheelchair and Amputees Sports Federation archive
The International Wheelchair & Amputee Sport Federation (IWAS) was created from the merger in 2005 of the International Stoke Mandeville Wheelchair Sports Federation (ISMWSF, previously ISMGF - the International Stoke Mandeville Games Federation) and the International Sports Organisation for the Disabled (ISOD). It has underpinned the Paralympic movement since its inception in 1952 as the ISMGF. Today IWAS is an international sports organization that governs sports for athletes with a disability. Its offices and archive are still at the Stoke Mandeville Olympic Lodge.
